Grande Tour de Test - As friends of Nelson Pratt who tragically died in June 2012 and supporters of Campaign against living miserably - CALM, Neil McNair and Kenny Craig have decided to push their boundaries and ride from Tignes in the French Alps to Grateley, Hampshire to then participate in the 160km Tour de Test Valley 2018. Their unsupported journey of 1200km over 10 days is a massive challenge and hopefully will finally see them off!
Please help them raise awareness and crucial funds for CALM by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Campaign Against Living Miserably, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
Kenny grew up in Glasgow and has always had a healthy love of the great outdoors. This led him to a degree in Sport Science and ultimately his career as an officer in the Royal Marines, where he has now served 25 years! When not deployed to less salubrious parts of the globe, he devotes his time to active challenges and adventure. His main passions are snowboarding and skydiving, and these are followed closely by a keen involvement in mountain biking, BASE jumping, ski touring, road cycling, surfing and pretty much anything that’s active and exciting.
He currently runs the Royal Navy’s Outdoor Training Centre in Bavaria and spends most of his time in Tignes when not there. His professional and personal pursuits are exemplified by community, travel, adventure and shared adversity, and this challenge has all of those in abundance. When Neil suggested it, his life mantra of “seeing yourself off, frequently” made it impossible to refuse!

Neil was born and raised in Scotland, where his passion for the mountains and snowsports was ignited. Home is now in Tignes, France where he lives with his daughter and snowboards 200+ days per year. His preference is exploring the backcountry and sharing his passion and knowledge with like minded riders. This adventure now takes him all over the world, from Japan to central Europe and further North to Norway and Iceland.
When not in the mountains, Neil is usually found hanging out in the waters of South-West France trying to be less of a shit surfer, loosing skin much to the frustration of his family whilst skateboarding and pretending to be a rad Dad much to the embarrassment of his daughter. An amateur but keen cyclist, this challenge has been gnawing in the back of his mind for several years and is stoked to finally be extremely unprepared to take on the Grande Tour de test with Kenny.
